What Dental Insurance Typically Covers

Preventive (usually 100%)

Basic Restorative (usually 70–80%)

• Simple extractions
• Emergency dental care

Major Restorative (usually 50%)

• Crowns, bridges, and dentures

ACA & Covered California Dental

Under the ACA, dental coverage for children is an Essential Health Benefit. Adult dental is available as an optional add-on to many marketplace plans. Standalone dental plans are also available through the marketplace and off-marketplace.

Medicare & Dental
